Suwanski, Edward Frank

Ed grew up in a family of 12 siblings, 9 brothers and 3 sisters. In Ed''s early years he was a hard worker, He bought a gas station at the intersection of Clark and LaSalle streets in Chicago Illinois,The gas station was a Standard Oil Company, some of his brothers and his nephews worked there. Today it would be called BP Oil Company. Ed was married to Betty and they moved to Algonquin Il. on Mohawk Tr. about a block from the Fox River. After several years Ed decided to sell the gas station in Chicago and bought one in Algonquin at the intersection of Harrison St. and Rt 62. He again sold that station and bought a Shell Gas Station on Rts.25 and 62 in Barrington Hills Il. His nephew Tom worked part time for him until he again sold the station, he said trying to get good help that was trustworthy was hard. He went to work for a Manufacturing Company in Carpentersville Il. Ed like to joke around with his great nephews and tease the nieces, He like to play pool like all his brothers, he had many BBQ''s at there house in Algonquin. Ed was a friendly and generous man and he loved to push his sister Minnie''s buttons but it was always in fun.
